As a producer I have lead three game projects lasting between one to three months, and most of my skills as a producer I have learned through in practice at three different group projects.
Understanding the Core of the Game.
So, when I’m giving tasks or talking to other team members, I make sure that core systems and features are in before the team make features that would be nice to have but not necessary.
Being in Communication with Individual Members.
I have done this in different group projects to understand their perspective of the project, what is their fears, and it helps to take up issues that other people could not bring up in bigger meetings.
Keep meetings Short, to the Point and with Relevant People.
So each meeting is relevant to each member, and by the end they know what we are doing, and can quickly start doing it, and no-one likes a meeting that they feel they have no reason to be in.
This is the first big game project that i worked in a production role, it was a bit rough in the role but i learned alot what to do and not to do
